According to the reports, the Pakistan Cricket Board has begun investigations into Umar Akmal’s alleged involvement in spot-fixing after suspending him on the eve of the Pakistan Super League .
According to the sources, Umar Akmal admitted that he had been in contact with a person named Faisal and all arrangements regarding match-fixing. The sources revealed that he confessed this statement during the investigation with the Anti-Corruption Unit. When he was asked that why did he not inform the board about the offer, Cricketer Umar Akmal said he was “perplexed and panicked”. Failing to report such an approach for match-fixing is considered an offence as per the ICC ACU.
