According to a survey issued on Thursday by Greenpeace and the Korean Metal Workers’ Union, more than 82 percent of industrial employees believe vehicles with internal combustion engines should not be sold after 2035, and over 64 percent believe a ban should be implemented by 2030.
Industry groups such as the Korea Automobile Manufacturers Association and the Korea Automobile Parts Association have expressed opposition to Yoon’s plan, claiming that the deadline for fully converting to electric vehicles is impossible.
