KARACHI – The Sindh education department has on Friday started considering to keep primary classes closed in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic situation after reopening of the educational institutions.
According to sources, one-month extension in reopening of primary classes is expected and the suggestion to conduct online classes from grade one to five is under consideration. The education department will make final decision after receiving recommendations from the health department.It is pertinent here to mention that Sindh remains the worst-hit province by the pandemic in terms of cases followed by Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
Pakistan has reported nine deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 304,386. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 6,408. According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center , 752 persons have been tested positive for COVID-19 in 24 hours.
