During his four-decade career, he performed in over 2,000 stage dramas. He with Abid Khan, Shoki Khan, Babu Baral and Albela gave a new touch to the stage drama. Renowned comedian, including Sohail Ahmed, Iftikhar Thakar, Naseem Viki, Amanat Chan, Sakhawat Naz, Akram Udas and Nasir Chinioti, considered him as teacher.In 2010, Amanullah joined private TV channel for its then new program. He portrayed a simple, blind village man named Hakeem Sahab.
