You can expect anything in Pakistan and a Pakistani man going viral for distributing cigarettes in a Langar is just one example of it.The man, who has not been identified, was filmed handing out cigarettes to people who were queuing for food.Smoking is a major health problem in Pakistan. According to the World Health Organization , over 20% of adults in Pakistan are smokers. It is a major risk factor for heart disease, stroke, cancer, and other chronic diseases.
The video has been met with mixed reactions online. Some have criticized distribution of cigarettes in a Langar as they say it is inappropriate to promote smoking in a place where people are seeking food. However, cigarette-lovers have totally opposite views. They argued that the man who was distributing cigarettes understood the pain of smokers who might have been vying to get one amid inflation.
