ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's rupee witnessed back-to-back gains against the US dollar, appreciating another 0.14% in the inter-bank market on Wednesday.
“The drop in commodity prices in the international market suggests that the import bill will reduce in the coming months, which would ease the pressure on the current account deficit,” said Khan. Meanwhile, Saad Hashmey, Executive Director at BMA Capital, told Business Recorder that the central bank's measure to increase the policy rate by 150 bps “would help strengthen the local currency”.
In the open market, PKR gained 70 paisas for both buying and selling against USD, closing at 176.30 and 177, respectively.
