Addressing a news conference in Islamabad, the PTI chairman said: “They should be put in jail for their shamelessness. Nobody can pass such laws shamelessly — as this government did.”PTI Chairman said what happened in the assembly was a joke with the country, adding that without law, nation becomes a banana republic.
Khan — explaining how the leaders of the two big political parties, PPP and PML-N would be “saved” after the changes — said the government amended section 14 of the law, which now states that a person will only be held accountable for the “money left in the fake accounts ”. The second change, Khan said was made to the assets beyond means — section 9 — of the NAB law, which will provide relief to “major government leaders”.
He added that the government has now removed the investigation of money laundering cases from NAB’s ambit and has given them solely to the Federal Investigation Agency . Imran Khan said: “We will fight against them, with great preparation”, adding that during the passing of FATF-related legislation, the opposition of that time had walked out and tried to take NRO.Imran Khan claimed that $60m dollar in Switzerland was digested by Asif Ali Zardari, adding that when his government was in power, pressure was exerted, but he refused to provide NRO.
