- Pakistan Cricket Board has filed an appeal before the International Cricket Council against the demerit point of the Rawalpindi pitch which was used for Pakistan-England Test Match last month.
PCB had received the report of the demerit point of the Rawalpindi pitch on December 13 from the ICC. In a statement issued by the ICC it was said that many batting records were made in the Pak-England Rawalpindi Test, a report has stated. The stadium has two demerit points. According to ICC, the demerit points will remain in place for five years and the hosting of Rawalpindi Venue on more demerit points might be in jeopardy.
However, now in the appeal filed by PCB it has been taken that the bounce in the pitch was not uneven and that all aspects of declaring the pitch as below average level were not completed. The Pakistan Cricket Board is hopeful of the withdrawl of demerit points. The pitch had also got a demerit point after match between Pakistan and Australia in the last year.
