The NEPRA spokesperson said that the increase had been made under the quarterly tariff adjustment for 2019-2020.
He said that the increase would not put extra burden on the masses. “Consumers are already paying Rs 1.60 per unit under quarterly tariff adjustment which would expire on September 30,” he added.
