The National Accountability Bureau has challenged in the Supreme Court the Islamabad High Court’s decision to grant bail to PTI founder Imran Khan in connection with 190 million pounds Al-Qadir Trust case, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Through a petition filed in apex court on Friday, the anti-graft watchdog prayed the court to accept the appeal against the decision of the IHC. “The bail decision of founder PTI should be annulled,” the chairman pleaded in its plea. On May 14 last, the IHC granted bail to Imran Khan in the £190 million Al-Qadir Trust case against one million rupees surety bonds. An IHC division bench comprising Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangir heard the case. The NAB plea urges the Supreme Court to suspend the bail verdict until a final decision is pronounced on this appeal.
