Islamabad: The Islamabad High Court today declared the accountability court verdict in the avenfield against Maryam Nawaz and her husband null and void and acquitted the both.
The division bench of the IHC comprising Justice Amir Farooq and Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani had reserved the judgment after conclusion of arguments from the respondents of the case. The accountability court has awarded as a whole eight years imprisonment to Maryam Nawaz and one year for her husband.Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz vice-president and daughter of three-time premier Nawaz Sharif, her husband capt Safdar had filed appeals in the IHC against the punishment in the avenfield reference.
