IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah heard the petition regarding to bring back Pakistanis stranded in Iran. During the hearing, the petitioner argued that thousands of Pakistanis stranded in the Iran and their visas has also been expired.
Declaring the request unfit for hearing, the IHC chief justice said that the court cannot interfere in policy matters. “Trust the government,” he advised the petitioner, remarking that the whole world is in the grip of the coronavirus. The total number of confirmed cases of the disease increased by 2,926 to 32,332, he told state TV, adding that 2,893 of the patients are in a critical condition.
The move came a day after Iran’s government spokesman warned the country might face a surge of cases in the coronavirus pandemic.
