PTI Chairman Imran Khan filed a petition in the LHC against the election commission on Wednesday.
In his petition, he stated that the ECP while acting beyond its jurisdiction, was trying to remove him from party chairmanship. The petition stated that the ECP illegally issued a notice to remove him from the position of PTI chief. The ECP started its legal proceedings on Dec 7, 2022. Nonetheless, the PTI chairman has declared all his assets before the commission, the petition added.
The petitioner requested the court to suspend notice sent to him by the ECP and also order the commission to halt any proceedings against him till the final decision of the court.
