Addressing a press conference in Karachi on Sunday, Federal Minister for Interior Affairs Rana Sanaullah said that FIA after completing the investigation on the leaked audio of PTI leader Shaukat Tarin had sought permission from the Interior Ministry for arresting him. “The FIA has decided to initiate legal proceedings against him for his alleged attempt to disrupt the IMF loan programme.”He said that the country is facing economic and security challenges and holding elections in the given circumstances is quite difficult. The Interior Minister said that the PML-N and PPP used to blame each other in the past by mistake but later they realised that the real thief is Imran Khan and his wife who had stolen diamonds even.
Talking about Sheikh Rashid, Sanaullah said that he was arrested due to his wrong statements because he never thought before speaking. The court also held that the registration of the case against Sheikh Rashid was on merit.
