Addressing a press conference in Islamabad on Thursday, Akbar said funds worth 560 million dollars were received by Sharif family from the contract of New Islamabad Airport.
The special assistant maintained the fake accounts were opened in the name of Qazi family. He revealed that Maryam Nawaz had played a vital role in the whole process. “Passports were used for Telegraphic Transfer transactions,” he said. The special assistant disclosed that the Saharif family took loans from different sources, including the Punjab Bank which had not been returned.
He said most of the accused in the said case have fled abroad and according to the country’s law, a case cannot be initiated in their absence which is an irony.
