Taxila police on Monday arrested four suspects in a crackdown on illegal kidney transplantation, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the police, Dr Fawad, lady nurse Sobia, and paramedics Hasnain and Sharif were among those who had been arrested. The name of Dr Fawad is already in the police record. “Even at the time of the police raid, the process of illegally removing one person’s kidney and transplanting it to another person was going on,” police said.

“The police have shifted the donor and the receiver to the hospital. Instruments used in the surgery were also recovered from the possession of the accused,” they added. “After interrogation from the accused, their accomplices and facilitators will also be arrested,” they stated.
