ECP challenges LHC’s verdict to form election tribunals in SC

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan challenged the Lahore High Court’s verdict to form election tribunals in the Supreme Court.

The Election Commission has requested the Supreme Court to suspend the decision of the Lahore High Court. The electoral body is of the opinion that the formation of election tribunals is the authority of the Election Commission, the High Court cannot use the powers of the ECP.The Supreme Court should declare the decision of the Lahore High Court null and void.It should be noted that on the decision of the Lahore High Court, Chief Justice Shahzad Malik issued orders for the formation of 8 tribunals yesterday.ISLAMABAD: The Central Secretariat of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf was de-sealed on the order...

Earlier, The Central Secretariat of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf was de-sealed on the order of the Islamabad High Court. Islamabad High Court judge Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan had appointed a bailiff and ordered to de-seal the office, after which the bailiff de-sealed the office of PTI.
