A five-member bench will conduct the hearing, and the ECP has issued notices to PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan and the party’s Central Information Secretary Rauf Hassan. This case follows a series of legal challenges and decisions. Notably, on January 13, the Supreme Court upheld the ECP’s December 22 decision, which declared the PTI’s intra-party elections unlawful, leading to the party losing its ‘bat’ electoral symbol.Akbar S. Babar, a founding member of PTI, has been instrumental in these legal proceedings, having filed multiple petitions challenging the validity of PTI’s internal elections.
