"To date, we have not identified any infections compatible with the new Omicron variant among our survey participants," the ONS said. The World Health Organization's chief scientist, Soumya Swaminathan, told the Reuters Next conference that Omicron might displace Delta as the dominant variant globally but that it was impossible to predict.
