LAHORE - The Counter Terrorism Department claims to have arrested seven terrorists including two commanders of Daesh.
According to the CTD spokesperson, the operation was carried out in Gujranwala, Sargodha, Faisalabad and Bahawalpur.

Bright Star 2023 PAF Participate In Air Exercise 'Bright Star 2023' In EgyptPakistan air force jf-17 thunder is participating in multi-national air exercise 'bright star 2023' at Egypt Multi-national air exercise 'bright star 2023' has kicked off at the Mohammed Naguib military base, Egypt. Pakistan air force contingent will showcase its exceptional capabilities at the exercise alongside its jf-17 thunder fighter jets, dedicated air & ground crew. The exercise aims to promote interoperability among the participating nations, fostering shared learning opportunities. A total of 34 countries including Pakistan, the United States of America, India, kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Greece, and Qatar will be participating in this prestigious event. Over the course of two weeks, the exercise will bring together air, naval, and ground assets of the participating nations in the desert terrain of north-west Cairo, Egypt. Originally established as a bilateral training event between the United States and Egypt during the camp david accord of 1977, bright star exercise has evolved into a significant multi-national endeavor. In light of the complex security environment and contemporary strategic challenges, exercises like bright star 2023 enable the Pakistan air force to enhance its interoperability with friendly nations.

Taiwan Typhoon: Typhoon Haikui Makes Landfall In TaiwanTyphoon Haikui made landfall on Eastern Taiwan, unleashing torrential downpours, whipping winds and plunging thousands of households into darkness as the first major storm to directly hit the island in four years. Nearly 4,000 people were evacuated from high-risk areas, hundreds of flights cancelled and businesses closed in preparation for the storm. The Weather Bureau said the typhoon was at our doorstep and confirmed it had made landfall in Coastal Taitung, a mountainous county in lesser-populated Eastern Taiwan. According to AFP, residents hunkered down indoors in the dark, staying away from windows as strong gusts of wind sent toppled trees and dislodged water tanks flying in the air. The Typhoon has gathered speed since yesterday, and at 3:00 pm was packing sustained winds of about 154 kilometres per hour. The weather bureau said, rain and wind will be most intense and its impact will be most obvious during this period' after landfall. It said that the typhoon will move into the Taiwan strait by Monday evening. Across the island, more than 21,000 hosueholds lost power, and while most resumed by mid-afternoon, about 9,000 were still without electricity when Haikui hit including in Taitung. Authorities have reported two minor injuries in Hualien county a mountainous region which was issued a warning for flash floods after a fallen tree hit a car. The last major storm to hit Taiwan was Typhoon Bailu in 2019, which left one person dead.

Manipur Violence Eight More People Killed, Several Injured In The UnrestThe ongoing civil war in Manipur has gone beyond the control of the Modi government as the situation in the Indian state of Manipur is once again tense. Yesterday, 8 people were killed and more than 18 were injured as a result of the ongoing conflict between Kuki and Meti tribes. Bloody clashes took place in Bishnopur and Chorachandpur districts. According to local people, the clash was going on for the last two days. Eyewitnesses testified that the police and the army meanwhile remained silent spectators. Manipur chief minister Baran Singh described the situation as serious and critical. Dg Assam lt gen Pradeep Nair said the Kuki and Meti tribes have a large number of weapons which is causing security forces to fail. As a result of the civil war that has been going on for the last four months in the state of Manipur, more than 300 people have died and more than 50 thousand have been displaced.
