In Karachi, where rangers were called in to avert any untoward incident on the eve, people came out to say goodbye to the last sunset of 2021 at the Seaview. In Lahore, people took to the banks of the Ravi River to bid farewell to last year. Though security has been stepped up sporadic incidents of aerial firing and one-wheeling were reported in the provincial capital. Special measures were taken in the federal capital, Islamabad, to maintain the orders.
Braving the extreme cold, people took to the streets in Lahore where Liberty Market for dance and other celebratory moves and special lightening at Bahria Town remained a source of attraction for the revellers.Similar events were organized in Karachi and Islamabad. Moreover, a good number of people reached Murree to mark the event at the hill station. Tourists flock to Jim Ghafir Mall Road to celebrate New Year's Eve in Murree.
