LAHORE – Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Vice-president Maryam Nawaz has appeared before the National Accountability Bureau today in a case pertaining to illegal transfer of 180 acres of land in Raiwind, Dunya News reported.
The anti-graft body summoned details from the PML-N vice-president about her source of income through which she purchased the aforementioned land and the taxes that she paid. The PML-N leadership completed consultations on legal matters and decided that Maryam Nawaz will present her stance before the anti-corruption watchdog. The PML-N workers accompanied Maryam Nawaz from Jati Umrah to the NAB office in a convoy.
The property was transferred in the name of Maryam Nawaz in 2014 whereas 100 kanals each were transferred to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and erstwhile Punjab CM Shehbaz Sharif – father and uncle of Maryam. Reportedly, the rules and regulations of the Lahore Development Authority were ignored while transferring the lands. The property was declared as green land to stop construction around the Sharif family’s terrain.
