ZAMBOANGA CITY – The city government signed a Memorandum of Agreement with a prominent ride-hailing firm at the Zamboanga City Hall on Tuesday, June 4, in an effort to improve public transport operations and services here.

MAYOR John Dalipe and officials of Grab Philippines sign a Memorandum of Agreement to improve public transport services in Zamboanga City. The signing was witnessed by tricycle operators in the city.

The agreement covers the adoption of Grab Philippines services for public utility tricycles, considered as a major means of public transportation in this city. The agreement was seen as a means to eradicate the constant problem of overcharging and other malpractices by erring tricycle drivers. “Under the Dalipe administration, we have undertaken steps to expedite the development of transportation infrastructure to explore innovative technology that will revolutionize the way our people move and connect with our city,” Mayor John Dalipe said in his message.Grab Philippines operations head CJ Lasican expressed elation over signing the agreement while confirming their aim to provide access to people who desire convenience in transportation.

She also said the company aims to provide more livelihood opportunities by way of revolutionizing the transportation sector here.
