Juan Gapang emerges victorious in 'battle of the bands'

MANILA - Bacolod-based band Juan Gapang emerged as the winner in Sunday's "battle of the bands" on "Your Moment."

They were given the chance to pick their opponents, and Juan Gapang picked Bukang Liwayway and First Five Band to complete the three-way battle. With former "The Voice of the Philippines" contestant Kokoi Baldo as its frontman, Juan Gapang earned a standing ovation, both from the audience and the judges, for their cover of Tropical Depression's "Kapayapaan."

Maraming, maraming salamat po," Nadine Lustre told the group.Juan Gapang, which received a score of 88.33, moved on to the next round after beating First Five Band's score of 79.44.— Your Moment January 5, 2020"Your Moment" is billed as a 2-in-1 competition, with both singers and dancers given equal opportunity to showcase their talent. The grand cash prize for the winners is P2 million.

It airs every Saturday and Sunday, after "Home Sweetie Home: Extra Sweet" and "Wansapanataym," respectively.
