The output of fishers in the West Philippine Sea increased by 15% from 2022 to 2023, Presidential Assistant for Maritime Concerns Andres Centino said on Tuesday.“According to the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, there are around 385,000 fishers in the WPS,” said Centino during the launch of the Livelihood Activities to Enhance Fisheries Yields and Economic Gains from the West Philippine Sea Project.“And the fishers’ output in the WPS in 2023 reached 201,000 metric tons,” he added.
