The government’s “no vaccination, no ride” policy in Metro Manila “discriminates” against the poor and gives car owners a free pass, a worker’s group said. READ:

“In contrast, rich people — vaccinated or not — are free to move around since they have cars to use. These unfair and biased policies disproportionately impact people in the ‘laylayan’,” Magtubo added.

Magtubo said the DoTr policy could force unvaccinated workers to go on forced leave as they cannot tkae public transport going to their workplaces.saying “it is more anti-poor and anti-life if we will not impose interventions that will prevent loss of life due to non-vaccinations.” Magtubo also said there should be a dialogue between DOTr, the Department of Labor and Employment and labor and commuter groups.

“Has the DOTr realized the implications of their no vax, no ride policy? If not, it is because they do not seek to dialogue with workers and commuters’ organizations and prefer to unilaterally impose discriminatory policies,” Magtubo said.

Sorry but I believe most, if not all, private car owners are fully vaccinated. We & my son's family as well as everyone in the household are all vaccinated. Sumusunod kami sa patakaran, we're not stubborn like others.

Not being vaccinated gives the others a free pass to the hospital as well.

Pano to naging anti poor? Libre naman ang bakuna? 🤔

Transportation is an essential service. Everyone should have right to access. Other countries don’t impose such rule even if the covid cases are higher than in the Philippines. This is anti-poor and discriminatory.

ANTI-POOR❓❓❓❓😲😲😲 paano

It shld be stopped! It is a crime!

Government is more dangerous than omicron

this is too much, no vaccination no rights? kahit vaccinated may possibility paren mahawa and makahawa...

good point

When I heard it first in the news, I thought 'no vaccination, no right' parang ganoon talaga.. Ano na!! Bili tayo lahat nang kotse kasi po mayaman lahat ng Pinoy!!!!

And that, basically, is a violation of equal protection which may be questioned before the courts. A glaring and patent discrimination in the face of the law.

How can the undercover officials know if vaccine cards are real? How does the public know if the officials are real? While I am all for vaccines and hope people would have more access to them, but this policy seems as unenforceable as catching all traffic offenders.

This administration is highly and most likely STUPID! Vaccinated person can still get Covid - be asymptomatic and be a carrier/spreader.

True.
