The Department of Education underscored the importance of the “whole-of-society approach” to address one of the most pressing issues confronting Philippine basic education — shortage of classrooms and other school facilities.During the National Planning Conference on the School Building Program , Undersecretary for School Infrastructure and Facilities Epimaco V.

Meanwhile, Undersecretary for Administration Kristian R. Ablan also stressed the importance of being resourceful in building strong and resilient buildings. During the NPC-SBP, the field offices also welcomed the renewed partnership between the DepEd and the Department of Public Works and Highways in reinforcing the SBP.Vice President and DepEd Secretary Sara Z. Duterte noted that “one of the most pressing problems” affecting teaching and learning is the lack of school facilities and infrastructures.

During the NPC-SBP, DepEd Central Luzon Regional Director May B. Eclar also expressed gratitude to the national and regional officials, school division superintendents, legal officers, planning officers, and engineers for continuously supporting the SBP.
