The Gaza health ministry said at least 471 people had been killed in the strike and more than 300 wounded, some in critical condition. Maxar said their images reveal "a probable discoloured blast area in the main parking area of the hospital compound" with no "significant structural damage to the adjacent buildings".
He said Israel's trajectory analysis showed the rockets were fired "in close proximity to the hospital". Hamas said Israel "is directly responsible for this horrific massacre which was carried out... with American weapons only the occupation possesses". Even countries with diplomatic relations with Israel, such as Jordan and the United Arab Emirates, blamed Israel for the strike.
