Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. says the government is already preparing the healthcare system ahead of the possible entry of the feared Omicron variant in a press conference on Nov. 30, 2021.
“For now, we are conducting a lot of preparations, the same preparations that we have with Delta. We are mobilizing our hospitals and looking at reconstitution of our health care workers [by] providing them the needed boosters before the next variant [comes] here. It is only a matter of time,” he added.
Arriving travelers from countries in the green list will also be subjected to the same testing and quarantine protocols with those in the yellow list.
WHO Regional Head T. KASEI said ' despite our best efforts, covid will not dissappear.'
And we have ave all these faceshields in stock.
But we don't know (nor does the WHO) if current vaccines will work or how sick people might get or even how contagious it is. But we need to look like we're doing something to justify our pay.
