WATCH: Tearful Sarah promises parents unchanging love, respect a few months before wedding

MANILA — Just four months before her controversial wedding with Matteo Guidicelli, a tearful Sarah Geronimo assured her parents, Divine and Delfin, of her unchanging love “no matter who comes into my life.”

Geronimo is the third of four siblings, and is the only one among them who is in the limelight. Her parents have time and again credited Geronimo’s dedication and music career for helping provide a comfortable life for her family.“Kailangan maging matatag tayo,” he said, after sharing that any family grapples with problems. “Kaming mga magulang, gusto namin na lahat ng mga anak namin, mapunta sa magagandang buhay na patutunguhan.

Delfin’s mention of Geronimo having her own family notably excluded a reference to Guidicelli, who, as recently as November 2019, was still asking his now-wife’s parents for their blessing and acceptance. The February 20 nuptials was supposedly kept secret even from Geronimo’s parents, amid continued speculation that they disapprove of Guidicelli.
