WATCH: ‘Chucky’ television series drops first terrifying trailer

American cable channels SYFY and USA Network released on Monday, July 26 the first official trailer for their upcoming horror television seriesThe two-minute clip is filled with screams and scares as the sadistic killer doll Chucky returns to wreak havoc in an idyllic American town.

The series follows Jake, a teenage boy who, after browsing through his neighbor’s yard sale and discovering Chucky, unwittingly buys the haunted doll and takes him everywhere he goes, even to his school. Chucky then proceeds to commit a series of horrifying murders that uncovers the town’s deepest secrets. At the same time, the killer doll’s past catches up to him as friends and foes threaten to expose his origin on how he became a notorious murderer.

Actor Brad Dourif, who voiced Chucky in several films, resumes his role. Joining him in the series are Jennifer Tilly, Fiona Dourif, Alex Vincent, and Christine Elise McCarthy, all of whom starred in previous Chucky films.
