The video, inspired by calls to abolish the new anti-terror bill that human rights activists have raised alarm over, featured a localized version of Chaplin’s speech that was part of the acclaimed 1940 satirical film, "The Great Dictator." Among those who lent their voices to the project were Enchong Dee, director Joel Lamangan, Iza Calzado, Mae Paner, Agot Isidro, and Glaiza de Castro, alongside other personalities from film, television, theater and music recording.

“The first piece for VLF that Chuck produced was ‘Lola Doc’ with Nora Aunor. Inspired by the outcome, he mentioned ‘The Great Dictator’ speech to Rody who then readily accepted the job of translating,” Guingona told ABS-CBN News. It is a direct translation of the Chaplin’s climactic speech in his movie against the rise of dictators such as Hitler of Germany and Mussolini of Italy in the late 1930s: “The misery that is now upon us is but the passing of greed, the bitterness of men who fear the way of human progress. The hate of men will pass and dictators will die and the power they tool from the people will will return to the people. And so as men die, liberty will never perish.

While he did not refer to anyone in particular in the video, Gutierrez said the message of the video collaboration is perfect at a time when freedom of expression is under threat.
