A drone capable of 3D printing can now be used in the construction of buildings instead of sending workers on risky heights or remote areas.

The wasp-like drones use lightweight cement layer and has capability to quality control by scanning layers.

"We can have thousands of agents eventually and they can parallelize the manufacturing process," said Prof. Mirko Kovac, the Aerial Robotics Lab director. "It can reduce CO2 consumption, increase safety, reduce logistics needs and like this help the sector," he added. The drone is equipped with adjustable nozzle to make sure the spray head remains steady as the drone flies and match manufacturing accuracy.

"I think this is a bright future because it will reduce risk, it will reduce costs, and it will increase the output of the construction," Kovac said.
