CEBU CITY, Philippines — With the Cebu City Police Office more than halfway into completing its internal drug cleansing among its 1,104 personnel, CCPO chief Police Colonel Gemma Vinluan vowed to help those officers found positive of drug use when dismissed from service. Vinluan told reporters on Tuesday, August 20, that she and Police Brigadier General Debold Sinas, Police Regional Office in Central Visayas director, would still be lending their support to the policemen who will be dismissed from service after they tested positive during the series of drug tests conducted by CCPO.
“Gusto natin na pag sila ay natanggal sa PNP meron silang bagong buhay na kakaharapin,” said Vinluan. Vinluan added that aside from making sure that these men will be rehabilitated, she will also try to look for resources that would help them establish their livelihood after rehabilitation.Out of the 60 percent of city cops who underwent drug test, three police officers tested positive and were relieved from the service immediately, she revealed.Vinluan said they have found sponsors to shoulder the cost of the drug rehabilitation of the three police officers found positive of drug use.
