Veteran JRU guard back as Bombers face Pirates

THE Jose Rizal University Heavy Bombers will have a better rotation with point guard Ry Dela Rosa back in action.

De la Rosa’s presence last Saturday allowed the Heavy Bombers to have an experienced court general when they outplayed the Arellano University Chiefs, 88-72, in the 99th National Collegiate Athletic Association men’s basketball tournament. The Heavy Bombers promise to be a better team when they fight it out with the Lyceum Pirates at 2 p.m. at the start of the second round at the FilOil EcoOil Arena.Both the Bombers and Pirates share the same 6-3 win-loss record, with the winner moving up to lone third.

“We’re happy kasi nandito na siya ulit. Nu’ng wala siya, we really missed his services kasi ‘pag off si Argente, nandoon siya. Sana ‘wag silang dalawa maging off. Ry is still coping, ngayon bumabalik na siya slowly. I am really sure he will bounce back,”said JRU assistant coach Alex Callueng.The Heavy Bombers carry the momentum built from back-to-back wins over Lyceum and the Chiefs, while the Pirates are on a three-game slump.
