Following President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s appointment barely 20 months ago, veteran actor Tirso Cruz 3rd resigned as chairman of the Film Development Council of the Philippines ( FDCP ). He officially vacated the post on March 6.In a sit-down interview with The Manila Times, FDCP technical consultant Jose Javier Reyes confirmed Cruz's resignation due to 'personal reasons.' He also categorically dismissed rumors the actor was forced to resign because of 'civil service disqualifications.
''It is not civil service disqualification because when you come to think of it, past FDCP chairpersons did not pass the civil service exam . is an appointed position by the President,' Reyes said.'These assumptions are not only damaging, but they are ridiculous,' he said.FDCP's Rica Arevalo, who currently heads the agency's Festivals and Education department, has been selected by the board of trustees to assume Cruz's post as officer-in-charge (OIC) 'until the Palace appoints the new chairma
