Christmas caroling in Valenzuela City is now punishable by a P5,000 fine and/or community service by virtue of an ordinance banning the said activity.
In compliance with the national government’s call to prohibit Christmas caroling amid threats of coronavirus disease , the Valenzuela City Council passed Ordinance No. 824 .An administrative penalty equivalent to P5,000 shall be meted to those who violate the measure. Minors, however, will undergo an intervention program from the city’s Social Welfare and Development Office, the local government said.
For the meantime, the city government enjoined its constituents to practice online or digital caroling.
