THE Journalism Program of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) offers a new general education elective on digital literacy starting in Term 1 of Academic Year 2024-2025 to help address disinformation across disciplines.

THE Journalism Program of the University of Santo Tomas offers a new general education elective on digital literacy starting in Term 1 of Academic Year 2024-2025 to help address disinformation across disciplines.The 'Digital Literacy, Fact-Checking and Verification' elective is initially offered to first-year journalism and legal management college students, and expansion in succeeding terms will be based on demand, Asst. Prof.

While the department has greatly benefited from the liberal arts heritage of the college, it is envisioned to become a separate institute, building on its strengths to increase the scope of its programs and establish itself as the preeminent journalism and communication school in the region.
