UNITED States Vice President Kamala Harris is set to arrive in the Philippines on Sunday and will meet with President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio separately the next day.Harris, 58, is the first woman and first African American to become US Vice President. She had been elected District Attorney of San Francisco, California Attorney General, and senator before becoming the 49th US Vice President.
Harris will travel to Puerto Princesa, Palawan on Tuesday, November 22, where she is expected to meet with 'residents, civil society leaders and representatives of the Philippines Coast Guard,' the official said.US Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre in a statement dated October 28 said that Harris' visit to Manila 'will re-affirm and strengthen the US-Philippines alliance and underscore the breadth of our cooperation as friends, partners, and allies.
