A doctor from the University of the Philippines (UP) College of Medicine has slammed on Sunday, May 16, the red-tagging of groups organizing donation drives for the fire-hit Philippine General Hospital (PGH).

In a tweet, Dr. Gene Nisperos asked the public to promote solidarity instead of red-tagging those who want to provide aid to those affected by the fire that broke out at the PGH early Sunday morning.

“As president of the All-UP Academic Employees Union in UP Manila, whose members serve in UP-PGH, I welcome all efforts to help our beloved hospital,” Nisperos wrote.This after several social media postsagainst donating to the University of the Philippine Office of the Student Regent and Tulong Kabataan, branding their initiative as “fake.”READ MORE:
