“deliberately disregarding” its guidelines by operating outside the designated areas of the pilot implementation.This was after the technical working group for motorcycle taxis received reports that Angkas has opened its bike-hailing service to General Santos City in Mindanao, in the middle of the extended pilot test.
Under the guidelines, participants are only allowed to operate within Metro Manila and Metro Cebu during the three months dry run which began December 23 and will run until March 23, 2020. “Angkas should not put to risk or be allowed to endanger life and property in exchange for business viability. The safety of the riding public is of utmost priority, especially in a pilot run environment. There is no compromise here,” it added.In a comment also issued on Friday, Angkas chief transport advocate George Royeca explained that various local government units gave them the green light to operate in their area, including General Santos.
Royeca also pointed out that Cagayan De Oro has a local ordinance which allows motorcycle taxis to operate in the area.

KAguilarINQ is TWG saying the motorcycle as a mode of transportation is inherently “risky” / unsafe for those who ride it, be it Angkas or the riding public in general? what makes the motorcycle “risky” when turned into an Angkas motorcycle? KAguilarINQ Most of the passengers is willing to take the risk than spending longer hours on the traffic. We cant control them, you stop Ankas and more habal habal will emerge.
