Turned away by several hospitals, mother dies during childbirth

Watch more in iWant or TFC.tv MANILA—A 28-year old woman who gave birth in Caloocan died after 6 hospitals refused to admit her, citing full capacity, including one facility that asked for a deposit as payment before being taken in.Her husband, Jan Christian Bulatao, said the birthing had complications, requiring Kathy to be confined at hospital.

They were turned away by six hospitals citing the lack of available space and blood supply. One hospital asked for P30,000 as deposit. They spent nearly six hours looking for a hospital until they reached Bulacan, where a private hospital accepted Kathy, but it was too late.

Nakakatakot magkasakit ngayon at magpa-confine sa hospital. God help us!

At this rate, we will have high death rates. Not just because of covid19-related cases but that of non covid19-related cases because hospitals cant accomodate everyone. Bad timing to get sick or give birh this year.

DOHgovph Dapat alisin na sa mga private hosp ang humihingi ng Down payment, asikasuhin muna ang pasyente, i stabilized muna bago nila ipalipat sa ibang hosp kung ayaw nilang tanggapin, napakatagal ng sistema yan dpa rin nababago....!
