Tropical Cyclone 'Kiko' Tracker

At around 4 a.m., the center of typhoon Kiko was estimated at 280 kilometers east-northeast of Casiguran, Aurora.

State weather agency PAGASA estimated the center of Kiko at 435 kilometers East of Baler, Aurora or 370 km East of Casiguran, Aurora as of 10 p.m. Signal number 1 has been raised over Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, the northeastern portion of Apayao , and the northeastern portion of Isabela .has been raised in some Luzon areas on Thursday, Sept. 9, as typhoon “Kiko” approaches Northern Luzon.It packed a maximum sustained winds of 185 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 230 kph, while moving westward at 20 kph.

PAGASA said the typhoon may further intensify in the next 12 hours until it reaches its peak intensity between 185 kph and 205 kph by Friday evening while crossing the Babuyan archipelago.Typhoon “Kiko” has further intensified as it moved towards west-southwestward over the Philippine Sea. It added that in the next 24 hours, Kiko is less likely to cause sea conditions over the country’s coastal waters that may pose threat to safety of lives at sea, especially for those using small sea vessels.Typhoon Kiko slightly intensifies as it moves west-southwestward over the Philippine Sea.
