The Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau released a series of safety measures that tricycle drivers and commuters must observe while plying the city’s streets.
Both the drivers and passengers must wear face masks. A plastic divider must also be placed between the two as a safety precaution amid the threat of the coronavirus disease-2019 .Passengers will pay a fare of P20 for the first kilometer and an additional P5 for the succeeding half kilometers. Commuters will have to undergo thermal scans at the loading and unloading areas. Hand sanitizers must also be placed in these areas.
The MTPB warned tricycle drivers that they will be conducting surprise inspections to ensure that these safety protocols are being observed.
