TNT shifts from Castro to Oftana-Pogoy combo

MANILA, Philippines — There's no doubt that TNT 's transitioning its franchise from the Jayson Castro era to a new breed of young stars. Castro , nicknamed the 'Blur,' has led the franchise to eight PBA championships during his distinguished 14-year career so far with TNT .But with age and injuries slowing down 37-year-old Castro , twice named as the Best Point Guard in Asia , TNT coach Chot Reyes has been devising ways to shift the leadership to Calvin Oftana and Roger Pogoy.

'We still need to get the support from everyone else.'In Game One, Oftana exploded for 32 points, while Pogoy had 26.But evergreen big man Kelly Williams churned out a double-double effort as well, firing 19 points, highlighted by five three-pointers, along with 10 rebounds.Castro chipped in 11, four boards and five assists, while Glen Khobuntin had eight and seven boards to contribute to TNT's huge win.
