THE Manila Times announced new designations of its senior management team members to better reflect their current roles and responsibilities.Effective today, Leena Calso-Chua and Lynette Ordoñez-Luna will be co-managing editors of The Times.Calso-Chua, The Times' former news editor, started her career in journalism as a reporter for the defunct We Forum.In 1988, she moved to The Journal, a broadsheet of the Journal Group of Publications, where she covered several beats.
Before joining The Times, Mercado had a long stint with BusinessWorld, where she rose from the ranks from chief accountant to vice president and chief financial officer.In recent years, she also served on the board of that paper, representing the employees' retirement fund.Mercado holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce, major in Accounting, from San Sebastian College in Manila, where she graduated magna cum laude.
