Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms may be experienced over Metro Manila and the rest of the country on Good Friday, state weather bureau PAGASA said.In its 24-hour forecast, PAGASA said these weather conditions are caused by the easterlies affecting the eastern section of the Philippines as well as by localized thunderstorms.Flash floods or landslides may occur during severe thunderstorms, PAGASA warned.
On the other hand, the water level slightly increased or maintained in Angat, Ipo, La Mesa, Binga, Pantabangan, and Magat dams.PAGASA declared the start of the El Niño phenomenon on July 4 last year.The El Niño phenomenon is characterized by the abnormal warming of sea surface temperature in the central and eastern equatorial Pacific Ocean leading to below normal rainfall.
