Here are the stories making the headlines on ANC today:The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee is to lead a probe into the influx of millions suspected to be part of a money laundering scam involving Chinese nations. Sen. Dick Gordon, chair of the powerful committee, pegged the amount at P22.6 billion which entered the country from Sept. 2019 to Feb. 2020. The Palace said the executive department will also start a probe, likely to be led by Finance Department.
Ronald Dela Rosa raised eyebrows when he said the majority in the Senate is taking a beating, losing the vote on a resolution questioning the President’s power to end international treaties and agreements like the Visiting Forces Agreement . Dela Rosa said the majority is getting walloped and looking like the minority in the Upper House. Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri said there are issues that need a “conscience vote” where senators must be “statesmen.
