‘The Adam Project’’s Walker Scobell to star ‘Percy Jackson’ series

After starring in the Netflix movie “The Adam Project,” young actor Walker Scobell is set to portray the titular role in the upcoming series adaptation of Rick Riordan’s ““Walker Scobell is an incredibly talented young man who blew us away with his audition tapes for the role of Percy,” Riordan wrote on his. “Many of you recently discovered how great Walker is when you watched his movie The Adam Project, in which Walker lit up the screen as a younger version of Ryan Reynolds’ character.

Last January, Riordan shared that the series already got the green light from the streaming platform Disney+. Reports state that it looks like the upcoming show will be based on the first book of the series that centers on the heroic tales of the 12-year-old modern demigod and son of Poseidon. Based on the book’s synopsis, “Percy must journey across the United States to catch a thief who has stolen the original weapon of mass destruction—Zeus’ master bolt. Along the way, he must face a host of mythological enemies determined to stop him.”
