Taguig Mayor Lani Cayetano commended two city police officers for rejecting a bribe amounting to P182,000 by a Chinese national who allegedly tried to negotiate for the release of his colleagues last Jan. 14.

The two policemen were Patrolmen Hever Caspe and Mark Leonard Arcilla who arrested Yi Miu, 24, at Taguig Police Substation 1 in Barangay Fort Bonifacio.According to Taguig police chief Col. Robert Baesa, Yi allegedly tried to negotiate with the police for the release of his colleagues who were arrested in an entrapment operation for robbery extortion and violation of Republic Act 9165 .“Patrolmen Caspe and Arcilla deserve commendation for upholding the integrity of the Taguig City Police.

Following the arrest, the bribe money and other pieces of evidence were seized, including a 9mm caliber pistol, a gun magazine loaded with seven pieces of live ammunition, and the suspect’s vehicle.
